The Outreach Assistant will work with a team to support the Outreach Program by interacting with parents, families and or caregivers with their children, ranging from birth to adolescent age during community programming, both on and off-site.
JOB DUTIES:
Performing research and collaborating with team members to create developmentally appropriate programming for children of various ages.
Supporting parents/caregivers with their needs during programming and events.
Preparing, planning, set up and cleanup of program activities and event participation.
Attending special events with the Outreach Team.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidates for this position would be enrolled in, or graduated from, a College or University program related to Child and Family Studies.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with children and families.
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
Enthusiasm to foster resiliency and empowerment skills for children.
Strong communication skills.
TO BE ELIGIBLE, APPLICANTS MUST:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment,
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

SALARY: $18.20 per hour + 4% in lieu of vacation
LOCATION: 180 College Ave N., Sarnia, Ontario N7T 7X2
SHIFT: 35 hours per week
CONTRACT START: May 5, 2025
CONTRACT DURATION: 8 Weeks through Canada Summer Jobs
CONTRACT CONDITIONS: This contract may be terminated with two weeks notice. Employment is conditional upon a satisfactory police record check (Ontario) dated within the last twelve (12) months from the date of the Agency’s request
