Dual Diagnosis

Dual Diagnosis Program

The Dual Diagnosis Program is an assessment and treatment program for children/youth aged 6-18 years and their families, who have been diagnosed with a mild to moderate developmental disability and who are experiencing mental health related problems or behaviours.

We also offer support services for children on the Autism spectrum with adjustment difficulties that are keeping the child/youth and their family from functioning optimally.

This program offers:

  • Intervention and support to children and youth with high functioning autism who are transitioning to high school
  • Intervention & support to youth and their family/caregiver in order to encourage skills to assist in coping and adapting to the social and behavioural demands of adolescence.
  • Transition supports as required to facilitate successful movement of a child/youth to services in another setting, community or sector such as the adult mental health sector or educational setting.  Transition supports are intended to facilitate continuity of care and result in minimal disruption to the individual.
