Ambar Hehn

Ambar Hehn grew up in Lambton County and returned to Sarnia in 2019 with her family. She is deeply committed to advancing mental health, with a particular focus on improving outcomes for children and supporting their family systems.  Ambar holds a B.A. in Child and Youth Studies from Brock University (2004) and a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis (2014) from Purdue University Global.  She is an attachment- and trauma-informed Registered Behaviour Analyst (R.B.A.), a child behaviour and mental health professional, and a parent coach at The Oak Centre for Child and Family Psychology in Oakville, Ontario. She is registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) and maintains active membership in several professional mental health organizations across Ontario.  With over 20 years of experience working with parents and families—and more than a decade in clinical practice—Ambar has dedicated her career to addressing child development, behaviour and mental health.  She firmly believes that child mental health begins with caregiver well-being and has passionately worked to empower caregivers to become resilient, knowledgeable, and responsive to their children’s needs.  Ambar’s innovative strategic thinking, extensive clinical experience, and collaborative work with mental health agencies across central and southwestern Ontario uniquely position her to contribute meaningfully as a member of the St. Clair Child and Youth Board of Directors.   She is excited to have the opportunity to give back to the community in this way.
