The Walk-In Therapy Clinic is the first step for parents/guardians in accessing services in the Clinical Services Division at St. Clair Child & Youth Services.

What is the Walk-In Therapy Clinic?

The clinic provides an option for quick access to therapy services for families with children from 6 to 17 years of age. It enables individuals and/or family members to see trained therapists at their chosen moments of need. Its intent is to create opportunities for immediate problem solving and therapeutic conversation, as well as a connection to other St. Clair Child & Youth services if required. For many, a single session is sufficient; however the clinic may be used more than once if needed.

Who can attend the Clinic?

We encourage you to bring to the therapy session, whoever you believe can be part of the solution. As well, youth 12 years of age or older may come in requesting therapy or consultation assistance. The family or individuals in the family may be experiencing new or recently emerging problems, or the difficulties may have been present for a longer time. The focus or agenda for the therapy session is based on what the family members want from the meeting.

The clinic is not meant to be an emergency or crisis service. In the case of a crisis situation families in Lambton County can access the emergency department at Bluewater Health or call police as appropriate.

Every Tuesday (exceptions will be due to stat holidays and agency closures)
12 noon - 8 pm (last apt at 6:30 pm)

We will do our best to provide service to everyone who comes to the clinic on that day. However, the last appointment(s) will be admitted at 6:30 pm, and the clinic closes at 8:00 pm. If the volume of the clinic is such that we are not able to see you that day, we will work with you to fill out forms in advance of another Walk-In Therapy Clinic day and/or schedule an appointment for another day at your convenience.

Below you will find the forms that we ask you to complete the day of the Walk-In Therapy Clinic. It may reduce your wait time to complete the forms in advance and bring them with you to the clinic.
